What is a PIN and why is the app asking me to enter it?

  • A PIN is a 4-digit security code you created when you signed up. It is different than your gift card or credit card's PIN, which may also be referred to as a CVV or CCV number/code. Your PIN is needed whenever you make a payment, unless you have fingerprint recognition turned on or have opted out of using your PIN.

I forgot my pin. How do I reset it?

  • You can choose to change or disable your PIN under the “Settings” section of the app, just make sure you have downloaded the latest update from the App Store or Google Play!

Can I disable my PIN?

  • You can! To disable your PIN, go to “Settings” and uncheck “Require Security PIN.” You will be asked to input your password to verify.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

  • Click “Forgot Password” on the bottom right corner of the login screen. Enter your email address and click “Reset Password,” you will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don’t see the email in your inbox, please check your junk, spam and promotions folder. If you are still unable to locate it, please send us an email at mobileapp@scooterscoffee.com and we will manually reset your password.

Please note, the Scooter’s App is different from our Newsletters, so you will need to create an account before logging in the first time.

I loaded the gift card into the app and have purchased drinks using my physical gift card, but I haven’t seen any smiley faces!

  • Currently, you will only earn rewards when using the mobile app to make a purchase. In the “Pay” section of the app, simply click “Scan Card” and enter your PIN or Touch ID, which will generate a unique code. Present this code to your barista, they will scan the code, and you are good to go!

I loaded $50 onto my card on the mobile app and I didn’t get any smiley faces!

How do I load my gift card in the app?

  • Under “Pay,” click the + sign in the middle or upper right corner of the screen. Start by giving your card a name, then type in your Gift Card Number and CVV, being careful that you are entering the numbers correctly. Then, choose an image for your card, click “Add Card,” and let the rewards begin!

I’m having trouble loading the gift card into the app!

  • Please be sure that you are entering the card number and CVV properly. Most card numbers are either 16 or 19 digits, and most CVVs are 2, 3, or 8 digits (Note: this is different from your 4 digit security PIN). If your gift card number has a dash, do not enter the numbers after the dash. If you continue to have issues registering your card, please contact mobileapp@scooterscoffee.com.

What is Auto-Reload and how do I sign up?

  • Auto-Reloading will use a credit card that you register to automatically reload your gift card when it drops below a balance you specify. Auto-reloading can be enabled/disabled at any time.To enable Auto-Reload, click Pay→Manage→Auto-Reload Settings and enable Auto-Reload. Fill out your preferences and select the card you would like to pay with, then click to save your changes. It’s that simple!

How fast does an Auto-Reload happen?

  • An auto-reload typically happens within seconds, but may take up to an hour after reaching the minimum balance to complete.

I tried to load my gift card and now it’s locked. What do I do?

I don’t have a Scooter’s Gift Card - How do I get on the app?

  • Head over to your nearest location, ask your barista for a gift card and either have he/she load the gift card with money OR you may get a blank gift card from your barista and fill it up through the app on your own time.

Can I transfer balances between gift cards?

  • At this time, you are unable to transfer balances of gift cards within the app. You can zero out a gift card or split a purchase between multiple cards to use up any remaining balances you have.

Can I make payments with a credit card?

  • At this time, you are unable to make purchases within the app with a credit card, all purchases must be made using a gift card. You may, however, use a credit card to reload your gift card.

Will I be charged any fees for paying with my mobile app?

  • The Scooter’s Coffee mobile app is totally free to use, you will not be charged any fees or surcharges by Scooters or First Data USA. You may incur surcharges by your card issuer, such as an overdraft fee.

I see a 1 cent charge on my gift card or credit card. What’s up with that?

  • The mobile app may place a 1 cent hold on your credit card or gift card when you register it to verify it is authentic. This hold should be credited back immediately.

Does the app have any other perks besides the Smiles Rewards?

  • Yes! From time to time, the mobile app will offer exclusive rewards for app users. Check your offers to see if you qualify for any new rewards.

I tried to use a reward, but it was invalid. What happened?

  • If you believe a valid coupon was denied, please contact mobileapp@scooterscoffee.com and let us know which reward you were trying to use, and what you were attempting to buy.
